Audit and introduction to the scheme

We take responsibility for an initial skills audit of all teachers in your primary schools by way of a short questionnaire that is incorporated into a database that we maintain and update on your behalf.

We send an initial statement of our intentions to all primary heads and invite comments. We subsequently hold meetings in groups of schools where heads and teachers together are addressed and invited to put forward their ideas and concerns.

The purpose of the audit is to identify:

  • those teachers who have sufficient basic language skills to make them suitable for upskilling courses

  • the languages that they are able to teach and which they perceive as being in demand from children and parents
