We are passionate about primary MFL. It's a way of bringing
enjoyment, creativity, greater cultural awareness and self-confidence to all young
children. It brings about a better understanding of fellow citizens of the UK
and the EU who speak languages other than English, and is a vital preparation
for study at secondary level. We aim to communicate our enthusiasm
to your teachers, to the children in your schools, and to their parents. Some
teachers are of course anxious that they are being set "yet another set of
targets". Actually, young children find language-learning fun, and part of
